Transliteration:
oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe
sugandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam।
urvārukamiva bandhanān
mṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt॥
Hindi Translation:
हम त्रिनेत्र धारी सुगन्धयुक्त शिव की आराधना करते हैं, जो अपनी शक्ति से संसार का पोषण करते हैं। जिस प्रकार ककडी पक कर बन्धन से आपने आप छूट जाती है, वैसे ही वे हमें मृत्यु से मुक्त करें पर अपनी अमर प्रकृति से नहीं।
English translation:
I worship that fragrant Shiva of three eyes, the one who nourishes all living entities. May he help us free ourselves from death but not from immortality, just like how a cucumber frees itself from bondage on becoming ripe.
Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, Rigveda 7.59.12
सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्।
