Sanskrit Shlok on Father’s Day

येन प्रीणाति पितरं तेन प्रीत: प्रजापति:/strong>
Transliteration:
yena prīṇāti pitaraṃ tena prīta: prajāpati:।
Hindi translation:
पिता को प्रसन्न करने का कर्म, प्रजापति (भगवान) को भी प्रसन्न करता है।
English translation:
To serve one's father with love and grace,
Is to reach the God in sacred embrace.

सर्वदेवमयः पिता।
Transliteration:
sarvadevamayaḥ pitā।
Hindi translation:
पिता में ही सारे देवता समाए हुए है।
English translation:
Father is the embodiment of all
deities.

न ह्यतो धर्मचरणं किञ्चिदस्ति महत्तरम्।
यथा पितरिशुश्रूषा तस्य वा वचनक्रिया॥॥
Transliteration:
na hyato dharmacaraṇaṃ kiñcidasti
mahattaram।
yathā pitariśuśrūṣā tasya vā vacanakriyā॥॥
Hindi translation:
पिता की बात सुनना अथवा उनका कहा मानना धर्म
का सबसे महान् पालन है।
English translation:
Serving one's father or obeying his
commands is the highest form of upholding dharma.

पिता स्वर्गः पिता धर्मः पिता परमकं तपः।
पितरि प्रीतिमापन्ने सर्वाः प्रीयन्ति देवताः॥॥
Transliteration:
pitā svargaḥ pitā dharmaḥ pitā paramakaṃ
tapaḥ।
pitari prītimāpanne sarvāḥ prīyanti devatāḥ॥॥
Hindi translation:
मेरे पिता मेरे स्वर्ग हैं, मेरे पिता मेरे
धर्म हैं, वे मेरे जीवन की परम तपस्या हैं।
जब वे खुश होते हैं, तब सभी देवता खुश होते हैं !
English translation:
My Father is my heaven, my father is my
dharma, he is the ultimate penance of my life. If he is happy,
all deities are pleased.

जनकश्चोपनेता च यश्च विद्यां प्रयच्छति।
अन्नदाता भयत्राता पश्चैते पितरः
स्मृताः॥॥
Transliteration:
janakaścopenetā ca yaśca vidyāṃ
prayacchati।
annadātā bhayatrātā paścaite pitaraḥ smṛtāḥ॥॥
Hindi translation:
जन्मदाता, उपनयन संस्कारकर्ता, विद्या
प्रदान करने वाला,
अन्नदाता और भय से रक्षा करने वाला – ये पांच व्यक्ति को पिता कहा गया है।
English translation:
One who gives birth, one who initiates,
one who imparts knowledge, one who provides food and protects
from fear – these five are considered as
fathers.
