Shree Parshuram Janmotsav 2026
Parashurama (Sanskrit: परशुराम, IAST: Paraśurāma, lit. Rama with an axe) is the sixth avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism. Born as a Brahmin, Parashurama carried traits of a Kshatriya and is often regarded as a Brahman Warrior, He carried a number of traits, which included aggression, warfare, and valor; also, serenity, prudence, and patience.
Parshuram Janmotsav
बाणचापौ च परशुमभयं च चतुर्भुजैः।
प्रकोष्ठशोभि रुद्राक्षैर्दधानं भृगुनन्दनम्॥॥
Transliteration:
bāṇacāpau ca paraśumabhayaṃ ca caturbhujaiḥ।
prakoṣṭaśobhi rudrākṣairddadhānaṃ bhṛgunandanam॥॥
English translation:
I meditate upon Bhrigu's descendant Parashurama, who holds arrows, bow, axe and the posture of fearlessness in his four arms and whose wrists are adorned with Rudrākṣa.
Hindi translation:
जो अपनी चार भुजाओं में बाण, धनुष, परशु और अभय मुद्रा धारण किए हुए हैं, जिनकी कलाई पर रुद्राक्ष सुशोभित हैं, एसे भृगुनंदन परशुराम का मैं ध्यान करता हूँ।

Hindi translation:
भृगुवंश में अवतरित, क्षत्रिय गुरु परशुराम को नमन, आपकी विजय सर्वत्र हो।
English translation:
Salutations to Kshatriya Guru Parashurama, the fierce son of Bhrigu, victorious in all realms.

जितक्रोधो गुडाकेशो द्युतिमानरिमर्दनः।
रेणुकातनयः साक्षादजितो’व्यय एव
च॥॥
reṇukātanayaḥ sākṣādajito'vyaya eva ca॥॥
Hindi translation:
रेणुका का वह तेजस्वी, घने बाल धारण करने वाला पुत्र जिसने अपने शत्रुओं को कुचल कर क्रोध को जीत लिया है, निःसंदेह वह अजेय और अविनाशी है।
English translation:
The majestic son of Renuka who has conquered anger, has thick matted hair and has crushed his enemies, indeed he is undefeatable and indestructible.

भार्गवं जामदग्न्यं तं राजराजविमर्दनम्।
कैलासमिव दुर्धर्षं कालाग्निमिव
दुःसहम्॥॥
kailāsamiva durdharṣaṃ kālāgnimiva duḥsaham॥॥
Hindi translation:
भृगुवंशी जो राजाओं को पराजित करता है, वह कैलास के समान अदम्य है और कालरूपी अग्नि के समान असह्य है।
English translation:
The descendant of Bhṛgu who defeats kings, he is unconquerable like mountain Kailāsa
and is unbearable like the fire at the time of dissolution.

शुद्धं बुद्धं महाप्रज्ञामण्डितं रणपण्डितम्।
śuddhaṃ buddhaṃ mahāprajñāmaṇḍitaṃ raṇapaṇḍitam।
Hindi translation:
शुद्ध, जागृत, महान बुद्धि से सुशोभित (और) युद्ध के मैदान में कुशल।
English translation:
Pure, awakened, adorned with great intellect (and) skillful on the battlefield.

तन्नो रामः प्रचोदयात्॥॥
oṃ jāmadagnyāya vidmahe। mahāvīrāya dhīmahi। tanno rāmaḥ pracodayāt
Hindi translation:
ॉं हम जमदग्नि के पुत्र को जानते हैं। हम उस महावीर का ध्यान करते हैं। वह (परशु)राम हमें प्रेरित करे।
English translation:
Om! We know of the son of Jamadagni. We think of the great hero. May that (Parasu)Rama inspire us!
अग्रत: चतुरो वेदा: पृष्ठत: सशरं धनु: ।
इदं ब्राह्मं इदं क्षात्रं शापादपि
शरादपि ॥॥
idaṃ brāhmaṃ idaṃ kṣātraṃ śāpādapi śarādapi ॥॥
Hindi translation:
चार वेद ज्ञाता अर्थात् पूर्ण ज्ञान है एवं पीठपर धनुष्य-बाण अर्थात् शौर्य है।
अर्थात् यहां ब्राह्मतेज एवं क्षात्रतेज, उच्चासन विधमान हैं। जो सत्य का विरोध करेगा ,उसे ज्ञान से देकर अथवा बाण से परशुराम
पराजित करेंगे।
English translation:
Parshuram who is well versed with the four Vedas and sports the bow and arrow upon His back (that
is the one who has the radiance of both the Brahman (scholar) and the Kshatriya (warrior) will
destroy evildoers either with a curse or with an arrow.
