Jagannath Rath Yatra Quotes and Sanskrit Posts

The Jagannath Rath Yatra is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated annually in Puri, Odisha. It centers around the deities Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and their sister Subhadra.

The main event is a grand procession where massive, elaborately decorated chariots carrying the deities are pulled by throngs of devotees along a grand avenue to a different temple.

This symbolizes a celestial journey for the deities. The festival is a joyous and inclusive celebration, attracting millions of devotees who believe participating in the chariot pulling earns them merit

Jagannath Yatra Sanskrit Post 2025

रथं स्पृष्ट्वा प्रेम्णा विरलरथयात्रासुरभितम्।
जगन्नाथं नत्वा चरमचिरसौख्यं भवतु मे॥

Transliteration:
rathaṃ spṛṣṭvā premṇā viralarathayātrāsurabhitam।
jagannāthaṃ natvā caramacirasaukhyāṃ bhavatu me॥

Hindi translation:
May I attain ultimate and eternal happiness by worshipping Lord Jagannatha and lovingly
touching the fragrant divine chariot.

English translation:
मैं भगवान जगन्नाथ की पूजा करके और सुगंधित दिव्य रथ का
प्रेमपूर्वक स्पर्श करके परम और शाश्वत सुख प्राप्त करूं।

Jagannath Yatra Sanskrit Post 2024

भुजे सव्ये वेणुं शिरसि शिखिपिच्छं कटितटे
दुकूलं नेत्रान्ते सहचरकटाक्षं विदधते।
सदा श्रीमद्वृन्दावनवसतिलीलापरिचयो
जगन्नाथः स्वामी नयनपथगामी भवतु मे॥

Transliteration:
bhuje savye veṇuṃ śirasi śikhipicchaṃ kaṭitaṭe
dukūlaṃ netrānte sahacarakaṭākṣaṃ vidadhate।
sadā śrīmadvṛndāvanavasatīlīlāparicayo
jagannāthaḥ svāmī nayanapathagāmī bhavatu me॥

Hindi translation:
He holds a flute in His left hand, has a peacock's feather tucked in His hair, silken
cloth tied to His waist and from the corners of His eyes, He bestows glances onto His devotees that walk by.
He always reveals Himself through the glories of His grace in His divine abode of Vrindavana.
May Lord Jagannath pass through my vision.

English translation:
उनके बाएं हाथ में एक बांसुरी है, उनके बालों में एक मोर का पंख है,
उनकी कमर पर रेशमी कपड़ा बंधा हुआ है और उनकी आंखों के कोनों से,
वे आने-जाने वाले अपने भक्तों पर दृष्टि डालते हैं। वे सदैव अपने दिव्य निवास वृन्दावन में अपनी लीलि के माध्यम से स्वयं को प्रकट करते हैं।
भगवान जगन्नाथ मेरे दृष्टिपथ से गुजरें।

रथारूढो गच्छन्पथि मिलितभूदेवपटलैः
स्तुतिप्रादुर्भावं प्रतिपदमुपाकर्ण्य सदयः।
दयासिन्धुर्बन्धुः सकलजगतां सिन्धुसुतया
जगन्नाथः स्वामी नयनपथगामी भवतु मे॥

Transliteration:
rathārūḍho gacchhanpathi militābhūdevapaṭalaiḥ
stutipradūrbhāvaṃ pratipadamupākarṇya sadayaḥ।
dayāsindhurbandhuḥ sakalajagatāṃ sindhusutayā
jagannāthaḥ svāmī nayanapathagāmī bhavatu me॥

Hindi translation:
दयालु भगवान् जगन्नाथ जो रथ पर सवार सड़क पर चलते हैं,
हर कदम पर भक्तजनों की भीड़ जिसकी स्तुति करती है,
वह दया का सागर और सभी लोकों का मित्र,
लक्ष्मी सहित मेरी दृष्टि का विषय बने।

English translation:
The compassionate Lord Jagannatha, who moves along the road mounted on his chariot,
is thronged at every step by devotees singing his praises, the ocean of mercy and the friend of all the worlds,
may he, along with Lakshmi, be the object of my vision.

रथयात्रा नाम प्रेमऐक्ययोः श्रद्धायाश्च सङ्गमः।

Transliteration:
rathayātrā nāma premaaikyayoḥ śraddāyāśca saṅgamaḥ।

Hindi translation:
प्रेम, एकता और श्रद्धा का संगम रथ यात्रा है।

English translation:
The conjuncture of love, unity and devotion is Ratha Yatra.

अनाथस्य जगन्नाथ नाथस्त्वं मे न संशयः।
यस्य नाथो जगन्नाथस्तस्य दुःखं कथं प्रभो॥

Transliteration:
anāthasya jagannātha nāthastvaṃ me na saṃśayaḥ।
yasya nātho jagannāthastasya duḥkhaṃ kathaṃ prabho॥

Hindi translation:
जिनका इस दुनिया में कोई नहीं, जगन्नाथ भगवान उनके स्वामी है,
इसमें काई शंका नहीं। और, जिनके स्वामी जगन्नाथ हैं, उनको जीवन मे क्या दु:ख हो सकता है?

English translation:
Without any doubt, one who is orphan, Lord Jagannath is their master.
And when Lord Jagannath is your master, what is there to grieve on?
