Transliteration:
dharma eva hato hanti dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ।
tasmāddharmo na hantavyo mā no dharmo hato’vadhīt॥
Hindi Translation:
धर्म त्यागे जाने पर नाश करता है, और धर्म की रक्षा करने पर धर्म रक्षा करता है।
अतः धर्म का हनन अर्थात् त्याग कभी नही करना चाहिए। मारा हुआ धर्म हमको न मार डाले।
English translation:
Dharma destroys when abandoned. Dharma, when upheld, protects.
Dharma, therefore, should not be abandoned. Let not abandoned Dharma destroy us.
